The french press is a piston coffee maker also used as a tea infuser.
It consists of a cylindrical jug with a perforated lid inside which a rod slides with a round metal filter at the tip that acts as a piston.
Ingredients :
– First boiling water at a temperature of 90 – 92°C
– Coffee/water ratio 1/13
– Extraction time 5 – 10 minutes
– Granulometry 600 -1000 micrometres.
We put the coffee in the carafe, fill it with hot water and mix the water and coffee with a spoon. We insert the lid with the piston and after 5 – 10 minutes of infusion we press the filter all the way down. We filter the coffee with a paper filter and we can serve it.
